Armenian Chronicles: A Living History
Armenian Chronicles
Oral Histories: Every Armenian family in Rhode Island has a story to tell.

Help us to preserve our Armenian History, understand our community’s identity, and let the world know that we’ve survived, we’ve thrived, and we are still here.

This is particularly important as much of our history has been lost because of the Hamidian Massacres of the mid 1890’s and the Armenian Genocide 1915-1923 and the worldwide displacement of our indigenous population of Western Armenia.

Documentary Film: The goal is to produce a documentary film that will increase Rhode Island’s (and beyond) awareness and understanding of the Armenian immigration experience. The film will also explore the impact of the descendants of the survivors, and its relevance to the overall American immigration experience.

The sections to be covered are as follows:
    Historical Context and the Genocide
Establishing new roots focusing on early challenges, community building and cultural preservation
    Achievements and contributions
    Reflections and identify
    Contemporary challenges
